Ensemble ("we", "us", or "our") is a tool that sends your queries to multiple AI models and compares their responses. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Ensemble, we collect:

Queries and responses. The text (and any images) you submit, along with the AI model responses, are stored in our database.
Usage data. We log metadata such as timestamps, response times, and estimated costs per query.
A browser identifier. We set a cookie (ensemble_user_id) to associate your conversations across sessions. It contains a random ID — not your name or email.
IP address. Your IP address and browser identifier are used to prevent abuse and are recorded in server logs.
Analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage analytics (page views, feature usage). PostHog may set its own cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

To display your conversation history within the app.
To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse.
To debug issues, review usage patterns, and improve the product.
To track aggregate usage and costs.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your queries to train AI models.

3. Third-Party AI Providers

Your queries are sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and others) to generate responses. Each provider has its own privacy policy and data retention practices. We recommend reviewing their policies if you have concerns about how they handle your data.

4. Data Retention

Conversations are stored indefinitely unless you request deletion. To request deletion of your data, contact us using the information below.

5. Cookies

We use one first-party cookie (ensemble_user_id) to maintain your session. It expires after one year. We also use PostHog analytics, which may set additional cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this will prevent conversation history from working.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect stored data. However, no system is perfectly secure. Do not submit sensitive personal information, passwords, or confidential data through this tool.

7. Children's Privacy

Ensemble is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of Ensemble after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
